EMDR has saved my life. I was always known for being mentally strong ever since childhood, but reprocessing helped give me a new lens on life. EMDR shocks the brain with the glia by making them stronger; glia are the support neurons in the brain (especially found within the white matter) that heal electrical circuits in the brain. The reason why they are found in the white matter more as a side tangent is that this side helps with connectivity, communication, and creativity.

You become more empathetic with EMDR and with my previous diagnosis of trauma induce autism, I learned to feel more with the pen and connect to people more. I have become better at reading which engenders resiliency. EMDR can unleash someone’s creative talents by teaching the client to be one with themself and heal through creativity. My memory has greatly increased as well causing enhance verbal communication skills.

Dubbed – The medicine of childhood

Inspired by Wassily Kandinsky

Mimics the chaos found in white matter which engenders creativity.

Why is this?

When we become traumatized, we cave inward and stop growing as much if we choose not to heal. When we find strength in healing by reprocessing the trauma with the bi-lateralization stimulation of the brain, we awaken what was once lost and soar into the sky.

Some good outlets for those going through EMDR are poetry. Poetry saved my life. I was recently traumatized again and found expression as my key. Here, I reflected at what reprocessing taught me and aim to be free of my meds soon. Poetry can be its own medicine which aids in the process of connecting yourself to heal and express oneself.

Seen below; is my poem describing my experience with this. I utilize a lot of juxtaposition to highlight the effects of bi-lateralization stimulation.

Introversion – I like my new meds…

Waves crash the synapsis of the thought.
Alas! I raft to and fro – a drought!
The symphony cries out to me.
Please come see me…
I am your friend now.
Chaos born a new the idea.
O’ wow
this undoes my glia.
CHAOS, welcome me in your arms
as I set off the alarm
CHAOS teaches me how to sing
to the birds in the corner.

Thank you for reading. I am currently at Clayton Residential which specializes in rehabilitation of the mentally ill.
